Waste Services, Inc., and our subsidiaries are a multi-regional, integrated solid waste management company, providing collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services for non-hazardous solid waste in markets in Florida, and in Eastern Canada (Ontario), and Western Canada (Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan).  As of December 31, 2009, we served an estimated 86,000 commercial and industrial customers and an estimated 7.2 million residential homes and owned or operated 7 landfills, 18 transfer stations, 12 recycling facilities, and 33 collection operations.

Waste Services, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware.  Our stock is listed on the NASDAQ Global Market under the symbol WSII.  We are the successor to Capital Environmental Resource Inc. by way of a migration transaction that was completed July 31, 2004.  Capital Environmental Resource Inc., which changed its name to Waste Services (CA) Inc. on July 31, 2004 is now our subsidiary.
